With modern folk and indie influences, country artist Racyne Parker's lyrical delivery and contemporary style fit in well on playlists next to Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, Lucinda Williams, and Miranda Lambert.
With a live set that samples songs from a variety of genres, including country, folk, indie, and Americana, Racyne Parker is a singer-songwriter who brings something for all audiences.
An up-and-coming recording and performing artist, Racyne is currently based out of Southern Oregon. She began performing in and around the Klamath Basin in 2018 and is always excited to expand on opportunities to connect with new audiences.
Racyne released her debut EP, Tumbleweed Town in August of 2019. A collection of five songs, it is available on your favorite listening platform now.
Born and raised in Klamath Falls, OR, Racyne grew up riding horses, playing sports, and singing with her dad's country/rock band. Racyne wrote her first song when she was in the 4th grade (it was about her little sister) and she has been writing songs ever since.
In high school, Racyne sang in the jazz choir but moved away from musical performance as she pursued athletic opportunities in basketball, volleyball, and track & field. Despite this shift, Racyne held tight to the hope that someday she would be able to follow her passions to write, sing, and share music.
Racyne left home, college-bound, in 2013. She double-majored in biology and anthropology and received a Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University in 2017. On the path to medical school, she focused on academics and graduated with honors.
Racyne was also a dual-sport athlete on the Willamette Women's Basketball team and the Willamette Track and Field team. Though she committed her time to academics and athletics, she found herself constantly returning to music, performing in the Willamette Talent Show and breaking out her guitar around campfires. She could not shake the daydreams of becoming a singer/songwriter.
It was in college that Racyne began writing songs inspired by the country sounds of her childhood and the indie/folk sounds of her college years. It was during this time that she began to truly believe in her music, and it was through those songs that abstract notions of pursuing her passion for singing and songwriting finally became realistic.
In the year following her graduation, Racyne continued to write songs, began recording her first EP with SoundSmith Studios in Bend, OR, and started performing back home in Klamath Falls.
Her debut single, "I'm a Mess" was released in January of 2019, followed by a sophomore single in June 2019. Her debut EP was released in August 2019 and is now available on all listening platforms.
