A performer with a low-stakes, kind, and engaging stage presence, Racyne makes room for story-telling, original songs, sing-alongs, and making friends throughout her live sets, gigs, and shows. She's grateful for any chance she gets to perform and is happy to have you along for the ride!
Originally from Southern Oregon, Denver based singer-songwriter Racyne Parker draws inspiration from country, modern folk, indie rock, and pop influences, to deliver catchy lyrics, warm vocals, and a contemporary style that fits in well on playlists next to Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, Jewel, and Miranda Lambert.
Racyne is bound to play a song that you know while also introducing new songs to you that you're sure to love. Her original tunes, while personal to her, often present themes that you'll be familiar with too.
Her songs draw on her experiences with living in and leaving a small town, navigating uncertainty in love and life in her 20s, and finding joy in the little moments.
Racyne released her debut single, I'm a Mess, in January of 2019 and her sophomore single, 'Tumbleweed Town,' in June of 2019 ahead of the release of her first EP, 'Tumbleweed Town.' Released in August of 2019, 'Tumbleweed Town' is a collection of five country songs. In the following two years, Racyne released three singles, 'Hindsight,' 'Fall Too Easy,' and 'I'll Keep You.' In the spring of 2022, Racyne collaborated with her hometown band, The Low Coals, to deliver 'Feel It Now,' a three-song indie-folk-rock EP.
Most recently, Racyne brings her latest single, 'Here in the Middle,' which according to Guitar Girl Magazine "oozes irresistible ebbing and rising textures, all crowned by crème de la crème vocals."
Born and raised in Klamath Falls, OR, Racyne grew up riding horses, playing sports, and singing with her dad's country/rock band. Racyne wrote her first song when she was in the 4th grade, (it was about her little sister), and she has been writing songs ever since.
In high school, Racyne sang in the jazz choir but moved away from musical performance as she pursued athletic opportunities in basketball, volleyball, and track & field. Despite this shift, Racyne held tight to the hope that someday she would be able to follow her passions to write, sing, and share music.
Racyne left home, college-bound, in 2013. She double-majored in biology and anthropology and received a Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University in 2017. On the path to medical school, she focused on academics and graduated with honors.
Racyne was also a dual-sport athlete on the Willamette Women's Basketball team and the Willamette Track and Field team. Though she committed her time to academics and athletics, she found herself constantly returning to music, performing in the Willamette Talent Show and breaking out her guitar around campfires. She could not shake the daydreams of becoming a professional singer/songwriter.
It was in college that Racyne began writing songs inspired by the country sounds of her childhood and the indie/folk sounds of her college years. It was during this time that she began to truly believe in her music, and it was through those songs that abstract notions of pursuing her passion for singing and songwriting finally became realistic.
In the year following her graduation, Racyne continued to write songs, began recording her first EP with SoundSmith Studios in Bend, OR, and started performing back home in Klamath Falls.
Her debut single, "I'm a Mess" was released in January of 2019, followed by a sophomore single in June 2019. Her debut EP, "Tumbleweed Town," was released in August 2019 and is now available on all listening platforms.
Racyne spent a year playing shows with local Southern Oregon band Lucid Blue, from March of 2019 to March 2020 before moving her home-base to just outside of Denver, Colorado.
In the fall of 2020 Racyne released two singles, Hindsight and Fall Too Easy as solo projects. She followed those releases up with I'll Keep You in January of 2021.
During the summer of 2020, Racyne came together with Jordan Renn and Nick Wood of Lucid Blue to form the band Racyne Parker & The Low Coals, which began recording their debut EP in the summer of 2020. A project that gravitates heavily toward the indie rock, alternative, and indie folk genres, the Racyne Parker & The Low Coals debut EP, "Feel It Now," was released on March 31st, 2022.
Racyne most recently released, "Here in the Middle," produced by Randall Kent (Nashville, TN), on September 29, 2022, then followed that release up with a PNW tour.
